Seal Pup Rescue – Week 5 Update. She’s getting fat!

Seal Pup Rescue – Week 5 Update. She’s getting fat!

It’s not often you would hear proud parents say how happy they are their little darling is getting fat, but it couldn’t be more true in this case! Dilla is really starting to look much bigger, both in length and width now. She is growing into a beautiful darling and is also starting to get some of her attitude!

We could not be happier with her progress and behaviour! She is just amazing in everything she does even when she is trying to bite us, which does happen more regularly now.

I had my first teeth contact but she was very gentle and not really trying to bite me. She really doesn’t like bed time!! She know when it’s coming and is very smart. Sometimes she jumps in the poo and just looks at us knowing we can’t get her. It was during one of these bed times where she was telling me off for trying to put her to bed 🙂

We must remind those who come to visit. Do not try and touch her, this is for your safety and hers.

We have brought some new scales to try to get a better/consistent measure of her weight. We have only done one day with these so time will tell but at least when I weight myself my weight stays consistent now  so there is good hope.

So here is this weeks report!

Seal pup rescue – week 5 update

Weight taken. 10.7kg
5x 330ml feedings
All things looking good.

Wednesday 1st July:
5x 360ml feedings

Thursday 2nd July:
Weight taken. 11.2kg
5x 360ml feedings

Friday 3rd July:
5x 360ml feedings
All things looking good, appears to want us to play with her while she is swimming. She really enjoys chasing the ball around.
Another contact with mbl.is news to follow her story.

Saturday 4th July:
Weight taken 11.4kg
5x 390ml feedings

Sunday 5th July:
5x 390ml feedings

Monday 6th July:
Weight taken. 10.7kg (this is very wrong and have purchased new scales to see if that will make a difference to recording her weight)
5x 420ml feedings. This is too much, on last feed of the day she burped and up came a little of the excess food. Now we know how much to fill her stomach.
Very snappy and slightly aggressive especially at bed time. In the morning, very hungry came running out to see us and bit gently onto my loose clothing and shook her head around a little bit.
Channel 2 new came to visit. Click here to watch, you will need to go toward the end of the video, 13 minutes. This is mostly all in Icelandic of course 🙂
